The story

The title plays on a gap in the Bible. Moses had two sons, Gershom and Eliezer; no daughter of his is named. The women of his story are other men's daughters: Pharaoh's daughter, who came down to wash at the river and found the infant Moses, and the seven daughters of the priest of Midian, whom Moses defended at a well, one of whom, Zipporah, became his wife.

The collage combines Moses from Gustave Doré's illustrations for the Bible (1866), trees by Van Gogh and three bathers by Auguste Renoir.

Comes mounted in a 14 x 11 in archival mat, ready for an off-the-shelf frame of that size. Frame not included.

Colour accuracy is difficult to ensure online. The artwork may vary slightly from the images shown here.
